Age	Not exceeding 45 years for Scheduled Tribe candidates as on normal closing date after granting One-time special relaxation of 05 years by the Administration of UT of Ladakh for the recruitment years 2025 & 2026 vide Order No. 280-LA(GAD) of 2025, dated 30.06.2025. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/ U.T. Government Servant up to Five years as per Instructions/ orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)	EDUCATIONAL- Post Graduation in Botany with B.Ed.   Note- The qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Desirable Qualification (s)
Duty(ies)	Lecturers (Botany) are responsible for teaching Botany for senior classes in Govt. Higher Secondary Schools and to trainee teachers in District Institutes of Educations, mentoring students, preparing study materials, maintaining academic records, assisting in exams, organizing activities, coordinating with parents and counsellors, and fulfilling departmental and administrative duties as assigned throughout the academic session.
Probation	02 Years for direct recruits.

Other Details	General Central Service, Group ‘B’, Gazetted, Non–Ministerial. The post is permanent.
Any Other Conditions	1. Domicile Requirement- The recruitment is exclusively for Domiciles of the Union territory of Ladakh, and in terms of the Ladakh Civil Services Decentralization and Recruitment - Grant of Domicile Certificate (Procedure) Rules, 2025, notified by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, and published in the Gazette of India (Extraordinary) dated 03.06.2025. Valid Domicile Certificate must be issued by the Competent Authority in the Administration of UT of Ladakh. (in the prescribed format) 2. Applicability of Reservation Law- The recruitment is governed by the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Act, 2004 as extended to the UT of Ladakh and amended by the Union Territory of Ladakh Reservation (Amendment) Regulation, 2025 (No. 1 of 2025), and further by the Union Territory of Ladakh Reservation (Amendment) Rules, 2025 notified vide S.O. 77 dated 27.06.2025. 3. Reservation- Reservation is provided for reserved categories including Scheduled Tribes (ST). Scheduled Tribes (ST)- Means such tribes or tribal communities or parts of, or groups within such tribes or tribal communities as are specified for the Union territory of Ladakh under Constitution (Jammu and Kashmir) Scheduled Tribes Order, 1989, as amended by the Constitution (Jammu and Kashmir) Scheduled Tribes Order (Amendment) Act, 2024 (No. 3 of 2024). 4. Submission of Certificates-All reservation claims must be supported by valid certificates issued by competent authorities in the prescribed formats as appended with Advertisement (Annexure-I to X).
