Post Description

Pay Scale:  Level-8 (Rs. 47,600-1,51,100/-)

Age:  Not exceeding thirty years of age as on normal closing date. Note- Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servants upto Five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s):  
A. Educational-
Masters degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry or Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Chemistry or Pharmacology or Bacteriology or Medicine or Microbiology or Biotechnology of a recognized University or recognised institute.

B. Experience-
Four years of experience in drug testing and standardisation and research.

Note 1- Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

Desirable Qualification (s):  
Doctorate degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry or Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Chemistry or Pharmacology or Bacteriology or Medicine or Microbiology or Biotechnology of a recognized University or recognised institute.

Duty(ies): 
The duty and responsibilities of the said post include analysis of complicated drugs samples by physicochemical method, using sophisticated instruments like High performance liquid chromatography, infra-red spectrophotometer, etc. Standardisation of reference standard. Carrying out research work pertaining to quality control of drugs. Imparting training to Drugs Analysts. Helping sectional i/c in technical and administrative work.

Probation: 
Two years for Direct Recruits
Note- There shall be a mandatory induction training of atleast two weeks duration for successful completion of the probation as prescribed by the Central Government.

Headquarters:  Central Drugs Testing Laboratory, Hyderabad, with all India service liability.

Other Details:  The post is permanent. General Central Service, Group B Gazetted, Non-Ministerial.

Any Other Conditions:  The officer may be posted anywhere in India.
